DJ Fonzy’s career spans 50 years. In the 70s, he was a member of Sir Biggs Sound System. In the 80s, he branched out on his own. During the Late 80s - 1994 he produced, manufactured and distributed UK artist material/vinyl records across genres included Reggae, Soul, Jungle, UK Garage and Hip Hop. He operated out of his own record shop (Beatfreak Records) in Wood Green. During this time he never stopped being a DJ showcasing genres mentioned above.
Nowadays he doesn’t play Jungle/DnB, but instead plays Afro Beats, Soulful Afro House (Old n New skool), Soulful House, Jazzfunk, Latter Revive (Jah Cure, Sizzla, Capleton, Buju, Beres etc) as well as Revival, New UK Reggae, Rare Groove, New Soul, Neo Soul and everything in between. He still produces from his own digital recording studio in Islington. He also presents a radio show every Sunday 11am-1pm GMT on Getlooseradio.com playing mainly New and Old Soul and Jazzfunk. He will launch shows in the new year covering House, Afrobeats and Reggae.
